Removal


1. Remove the camshafts. For more information, refer to the Camshafts chapter in this section.

2. Remove the ignition coil and condenser.



3. Connect special tools. Supply compressed air with pressure (7-10) bar to the cylinder.



4. Using a special tool, remove the valve spring.


  • Compress the valve spring.
  • Remove the crackers, spring plates and spring.



5. Using the special tool, remove the valve stem seal.



6. Repeat the above steps on all valves.

Installation


1. Place the seal installation sleeve onto the valve stem.



2.
CAUTION: Valve stem seals for intake valves are green and for exhaust valves are brown.



Install the valve stem oil seal.
  • Apply engine oil to the valve stem and sealing lip.
  • Place the valve stem seal onto the valve stem.
  • Install the valve spring retainer and valve spring.
  • Compress the valve springs using the special tool and remove the seal installation sleeve from the valve stem.
  • Using a special tool, install crackers on the valve stem.



4. Repeat the above steps on all valves.

5. Disconnect the special tools.



6. Install the ignition coil and capacitor.



7. Remove the camshafts. For more information, refer to the Camshafts chapter in this section.
