Withdrawal
1. Disconnect a wire of weight from the accumulator. See Section 414-01 for more information.
2. Raise the vehicle. See Section 100-02 for more information.
3. Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor connector (HO2S).

CAUTION: If the flexible exhaust pipe (flexible insert) bent too much, you can cause damage to it, which will eventually lead to failure of the element.
Secure the flexible connector of the exhaust system using a suitable cover or bar as a support. See Section 309-00 for more information.
5. Disconnect a reception exhaust pipe. Remove the gasket.
6. Lower the car.
7. Disconnect the engine ground cable and exhaust manifold heat shield.

8. Disconnect the exhaust manifold (shown from below). Remove the gasket.
9. Remove the exhaust manifold.
Installation
1. Pull the exhaust manifold into the engine compartment, working from above.
2.
NOTE: Use a new exhaust manifold gasket.
Connect the exhaust manifold (shown from below).
3. Connect exhaust heat shield and engine ground cable.

4. Raise the car. See Section 100-02 for more information.
5. Connect the heated oxygen sensor connector (CHT).
6. Install the intake exhaust pipe. Use a new gasket.
7. Disconnect the flexible exhaust pipe support.
8. Lower the car.
9. Connect a wire of weight to the accumulator. See Section 414-01 for more information.
