Exhaust gas discharge system (Fiesta 2)

            0

The purpose of the exhaust system is to direct exhaust gases away from the engine to the rear of the vehicle and reduce combustion noise to a level permitted by applicable regulations. The catalytic converter reduces the amount of harmful substances in the vehicle's exhaust gases. Systems with a catalytic converter have a lambda probe that interacts with the engine's electronic control unit, optimizing the combustion process.

The exhaust system is subject to increased pressure, the value of which is important for engine operation. Worn parts of the exhaust system must be replaced with original parts.

The exhaust system must be tight. The tightness of the system can be checked by placing a rag in the exhaust pipe opening while the engine is idling. Increasing the pressure allows you to detect leaks in the system. The connections of the tubular elements of the system are sealed with "Fire - Gum".

Corroded element fastenings, as well as the elements themselves, should be replaced.

When installing the exhaust system, make sure that the parts of the system do not come into contact with other chassis elements. Also make sure that the heat generated by the muffler and exhaust pipes does not cause overheating or damage to the vehicle chassis parts. The elastic rubber hangers of the exhaust system must be replaced during installation work and when replacing parts in the exhaust system.
