Exhaust system check

            0

1. With a cold engine (at least 3 hours after turning off the engine) check the exhaust system, completely, starting with the engine and ending with the exhaust pipe. Ideally, it is best to do this when the car is overturned so that you have free access to the system. If a tipper is not available, jack up the vehicle and support it securely

2. Check the exhaust pipe and all connections for leaks, severe rusting and damage. Make sure all brackets and hangers are in good condition and firmly fixed.

If the pipe is black and smoky, or if there is a lot of plaque on it, then the engine needs a tune-up, including inspection of the fuel system and its adjustment.
