1. Place the car on a level surface, turn off the engine, apply the handbrake. Check the tire pressure.
2. Press on one corner of the car, then release and pay attention to the movement of the body. It should stop and return to its original position after one or two swings.
3. If the car continues to move up and down or does not return to its original position, this indicates worn or weak shock absorbers.
4. Perform this check on each of the three remaining corners of the vehicle.
5. Raise the vehicle and place it on the jack stands.
6. Check the shock absorbers for leaks. A thin film of fluid is not taken into account. If you notice a leak, make sure that it is definitely from the shock absorbers and not from another source. If a leak is found, replace the shock absorber entirely
7. Check the shock absorbers for proper installation and integrity. Check the upper shock absorber mounts for wear and damage. If a defect is found, replace the entire shock absorber.
8. When replacing shock absorbers, follow the recommendations given in chapter 10.
