Warning: In these models of vehicles, the electric fan can operate with the ignition off. When working in the fan area, turn off its motor or disconnect the negative battery cable.
Note: The air filter element cannot be cleaned and must be replaced with a new one.
1. Disconnect the crankcase ventilation tube from the air cleaner housing cover.

2. Disconnect the 2 clips of the air cleaner housing cover and remove the cover (see Figure 11.1).

3. Remove the filter element. Remember that the folds of the paper element are directed downwards (see picture). The new one must be installed in the same way, otherwise it will not work.

4. Clean the inner sealed surface between the air cleaner body and the cover.
5. Before installing a new air filter element, check for any deformed folds or holes in the paper. If it has the word TOP (top) on it, be sure that this side is installed upward. The paper folds should be at the bottom.
6. Install the cover on the body, make sure it fits tightly, and secure the brackets.
7. Connect the pipeline and securely fasten its clamp.
