Withdrawal

1. Disconnect the negative battery (negative) the wire.

2. Remove intake manifold (see previous section).

3 Disconnect the oxygen sensor wires and disconnect the air intake and exhaust control valve hose from the piping assembly. Remove the nuts from the EGR valve bracket (see chapter 6).

4. Loosen the clamps and separate the heated air inlet and manifold screen.

5. Raise the car and place it on racks.

6. Locate the exhaust elbow between the exhaust manifold and catalytic converter. Remove the nuts from the three studs connecting the exhaust manifold to the exhaust pipe (see picture).

7 At the lower end of the elbow section (see picture) remove the single bolt from the bracket holding the small tube and the two bolts from the flange between the elbow and the catalytic converter.

8. Remove the seven exhaust manifold bolts (see picture). Remember that these bolts are different lengths, so mark the location of each one.

9 Disconnect the exhaust manifold from the block head.

Installation

10. The mating surfaces of the manifold and cylinder head should be cleaned before installing the manifold.

11. While holding the manifold in place, install the bolts.

12. When tightening the bolts, do not violate the recommended sequence (see picture), use a torque wrench. Tighten the bolts to the required torque in two steps.

13. Further assembly is carried out in the reverse order of disassembly.
