1. Place the vehicle on an inspection pit or lift.
2. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.
3. Remove the engine (see "Removal and installation the engine").
4. Remove the four bolts securing the upper heat shield of the exhaust manifold.
5. Unscrew two bolts on the left…
6. …and two bolts on the right side of the lower mount of the heat shield of the exhaust manifold…
7. …and remove the upper heat shield of the catalytic converter.
8. Remove one bolt from the left…
9. …and the right side of the lower heat shield mount to the exhaust manifold…
10. …and remove the lower heat shield.
11. Remove the two bolts securing the exhaust manifold to the cylinder block.
12. Unscrew the four nuts securing the exhaust manifold flange to the cylinder head…
13. …unscrew the central bolt…
14. …and remove the exhaust manifold…
15. …and a gasket.
16. Install the exhaust manifold in the reverse order of removal.
