This part of Chapter 2 is devoted to repair work on a four-cylinder engine that is still in the vehicle. Part C of this chapter contains all the information regarding engine removal and installation, repairs that require engine removal, and major repairs to the block and cylinder heads.
The following are repair procedures that are performed with the engine installed inside the vehicle. Many of the recommendations in this section of Chapter 2 are not applicable to an engine that is removed from the vehicle and installed on a stand.
