Warning: This procedure must be performed when the engine is completely cold.

Front section of the exhaust manifold

Withdrawal

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable (chapter 5. paragraph 1).

2. Disconnect the wiring from the oxygen sensor mounted on the exhaust manifold.

3. Turn away nuts of connections and remove a connecting pipe of system RVG from inlet and final collectors.

4. If necessary, empty the cooling system to improve access (Chapter 1) and remove the lower radiator hose.

5. Turn out bolts of a reception pipe of an exhaust system from a final collector.

6. Turn out nuts and remove a collector and a lining (see fig. 7.6, a, b).

7. If necessary, unscrew the oxygen sensor from the manifold (chapter 4b).

8. Clean the mating surfaces of the manifold and block head.

Installation

9. If the oxygen sensor was removed, install and secure it (chapter 4B).

10. Always install a new gasket on the head studs.

11. Install the manifold section and torque the nuts in sequence.

13. If the radiator hose has been removed, install it and tighten its clamp. Recharge the cooling system (Chapter 1).

14. Install the RVG system pipe connecting the intake and exhaust manifolds and tighten the nuts to the required torque.

15. Attach wiring to the oxygen sensor.

16. Connect the negative battery cable (chapter 5, par 1). Note: To restore the settings of the engine management system due to battery disconnection, a mileage of about 16 km is required. In this case, the engine may not work normally.

Rear exhaust manifold

Withdrawal

17. Disconnect the negative battery cable (chapter 5, paragraph 1).

18. Apply the parking brake. Raise the front end and place it on stands. Remove the right front wheel.

19. Remove the generator (chapter 5A). Turn out bolts and remove an arm of the generator from the block of cylinders.

20. Remove the catalytic converter (ch.4A) from the exhaust system. Disconnect the exhaust pipe from the exhaust manifold.

21. Remove the oxygen sensor from the manifold (ch.4B).

22. Turn out from the block of cylinders bolts of a support of the bearing of the right driving shaft.

23. Turn out a nut of the union and separate a connecting pipe of system RVG from a final collector.

24. Turn out nuts and remove a collector and a lining (see fig. 7.24, a, b).

25. Clean the mating surfaces of the manifold and block head.

Installation

26. Always install a new gasket on the head studs.

27. Install the manifold section and torque the nuts in sequence.

28. Attach the connecting pipe of the RVG system and tighten the union nut.

29. Establish a support of the bearing of the right input shaft on the block of cylinders and tighten bolts the demanded moment.

30. Install the exhaust pipe and catalytic converter. (chapter 4A).

32. Install the generator bracket, tighten its bolts. Then install the generator (chapter 5A).

33. Install the right front wheel and lower the car to the ground.

34. Connect the negative battery cable (chapter 5, par 1).

Note: To restore the settings of the engine management system due to battery disconnection, a mileage of about 15 km is required. In this case, the engine may not work normally.
