Checking spark plugs
Since petrol engines, unlike diesel engines, depend on an external ignition source, the working cycle is started by spark plugs. In previous years, spark plugs were highly sensitive components that reached their wear limit at the latest at 12,000 km. With modern materials, unleaded petrol and above all with the use of electronic high-performance ignition systems, this has changed radically. Spark plugs are still allergic to moisture, for example after washing the engine, but it is no longer surprising to see a spark plug in good working order after 60,000 km - Ford recommends changing spark plugs after 60,000 km. However, you should not neglect your spark plugs, check them approximately every 20,000 km, a specialist can already determine the condition of the engine by the appearance of the plug.
