Compression pressure measurement

            0

Warm up the engine before measuring (operating temperature). This sets the mounting gap of all moving parts.

Turn off the ignition (terminal 15), disconnect the spark plug connectors and remove all spark plugs.

Put the car on the handbrake, shift the gear lever to neutral position, press the clutch and gas pedals.

Press the rubber cone of the pressure gauge against the spark plug hole (in a diesel engine - to the nozzle hole) the first cylinder, if necessary, use a suitable adapter.

The assistant cranks the engine with a starter about 6-8 times. The maximum pressure has been reached. Important in petrol engines: better filling with fresh mixture (external preparation of the working mixture) only achieved when the gas pedal is fully depressed.

Read the measured value and record. With a pressure gauge with a self-recording device, switch it to the next cylinder.

The rubber cone of the pressure gauge should hermetically close the hole for the candle. At your command, the assistant activates the starter. The starter must be turned until the self-recording measuring device stops.
