Spontaneous battery discharge

            0

Depending on the vehicle version, a discharge is added to the natural spontaneous discharge of the battery. due to the current consumption of various control devices during long-term parking of the car. Therefore, the battery of a non-driven vehicle must be recharged at least once every 6 weeks. If a surface leakage current is suspected, the vehicle's electrical system should be checked following the instructions below.

Use a charged battery for testing.

Set the ammeter with a measurement range of 0-5 mA to 0-5 A to the highest measurement limit. Disconnect ground wire from battery (-).

Attention: In this case, the memory of the electronic control unit for the injection system is erased "operating parameters", and from the radio storage device - the code is protected from theft and tuned radio stations. Therefore, before disconnecting the battery, be sure to read the instructions in chapter "Removing and installing the battery".

Connect an ammeter between the negative pole of the battery (-) and earth wire (-). positive wire (+) ammeter connected to ground wire (-), and the negative wire of the ammeter (-) connect to the negative pole of the battery (-).

Attention: The test can also be carried out using a test lamp. If the lamp connected between the ground wire and the negative pole of the battery does not light up, then in this case it is necessary to use an ammeter.

Turn off all electrical consumers. available hours (and other regular customers) off, close doors.

Reduce the measuring range of the ammeter until you can read the reading from the scale of the device (allowable value is 1-3 mA).

By taking out the fuses in series, breaking various electrical circuits. If, with an open circuit, the ammeter needle deviates to zero, then the malfunction should be sought in this particular circuit. A malfunction can be caused by corrosion and contamination of contacts, chafing of wires, internal short circuit in the unit.

If no fault is found in the fuse-protected electrical target, then it is necessary to disconnect the wires from the unfuse-protected unit. Such a unit can be a generator and a starter.

If, when the unit is turned off, the ammeter needle deviates to zero, then the corresponding unit must be repaired or replaced. In the event of power loss in the starter or ignition system, always check the ignition lock as well in accordance with the wiring diagram.

Connect ground wire (-) to the battery.

Set clock.

Enter the anti-theft code for the radio.

Install the power window on the driver's side, see chapter "Removing and installing the battery".
