Safety precautions when handling the airbag

            0

Before removing the airbag assembly, disconnect the ground wire (-) battery and negative strips (-) battery isolate. After this, wait at least 15 minutes, otherwise the airbag may deploy spontaneously when the plug is disconnected.

When disconnecting the battery, no one should be in front of the airbag for the driver or for the passenger next to the driver.

When removed, always lay the airbag unit in such a way that its elastic part points upwards.

During a pause in work, do not leave the airbag assembly unattended.

The airbag assembly cannot be repaired and must always be replaced as a complete set in the event of a malfunction. Since the airbag assembly contains an explosive, it must be kept locked or properly supervised. The airbag assembly must be disposed of by a workshop. Under no circumstances should the airbag be disposed of by yourself. Explosive!

When the car is being repaired for a long time, the dismantled airbag assembly that has not been deployed must be kept under lock and key.

The air bag assembly may only be checked by a specialist workshop. Never test with a test lamp, voltmeter or ohmmeter.

Do not treat the cushion assembly with lubricants, cleaners or other similar products.

The elastic part of the cushion on the steering wheel must not be pasted over, covered with material, or subjected to any other influence. It can only be wiped with a dry or damp cloth, or it can be cleaned with a cleaning agent approved by the vehicle manufacturer.

The airbag assembly and control unit are very sensitive to impacts. If they fell from a height of more than 50 cm, then they can no longer be installed again. When falling from a lower height, the airbag assembly should be checked by a workshop.

If, as a result of a collision with a car, the airbag opened, then all parts must be replaced with new ones (for CTO).

When welding, connect the terminal of the welding unit directly at the welding point.
