Withdrawal
Remove the tie rod end.
Squeeze the protrusions of the outer fastening clamp with tongs and remove the clamp.
Release the inner clamp or bite with side cutters
Remove the corrugated cover.
Attention: If the bellows have been damaged for a long time, it must be assumed that dirt has penetrated under them. This dirt, along with the grease, acts as a grinding paste and destroys the steering gear. In this case, as with the detection of rust on the rack, the steering mechanism must be repaired (at the service station).
Installation
The tie rod is easy to lubricate.
Lubricate the corrugated cover inside the shoulder and pull it onto the steering rod.
Put the bellows on the steering gear housing.
Slide the outer terminal clamp onto the corrugated cover.
Secure the bellows to the steering gear housing with a suitable clamp.
Install the tie rod end.
Lower the car.
Check and, if necessary, adjust the wheel alignment.
