Withdrawal



Disconnect ground wire (-) battery.

Attention. When the battery is disconnected, the contents of the electronic memory devices are erased, for example, for engine trouble codes or radio code. Before switching off, also read the instructions in chapter "Removing and installing the battery".


Remove poly V-belt, see p. 29.



Loosen the pump bolts -2- securing the V-ribbed belt pulley. To prevent the pulley from turning, hold it with an Allen key -1-. Remove poly V-belt pulley.

Place a container under the power steering pump to drain the transmission fluid.



Loosen the clamp -2-, remove the return hose from the pump and drain the transmission fluid into a suitable container.


Unscrew fastening -3- of the pipe holder, unscrew the hollow bolt -1- and disconnect the pressure pipe from the power steering pump.



Remove the bolts securing the power steering pump to the bracket. For clarity, the pump is shown in the removed state in the figure.

Remove the power steering pump.

Installation



Attention: If a new pump is installed, then remove the fittings from it, they are not needed.


Attach the power steering pump and tighten the mounting bolt to 25 Nm.

Connect the liquid return hose to the compensation tank to the pump and secure it with a clamp.

Fit the discharge line with a new Teflon O-ring. Push the seal through the threaded fitting using a suitable pipe.

Connect the discharge line to the pump and tighten the fastener to 65 Nm. Screw on the pipe holder.

Attach the V-ribbed belt pulley to the pump and tighten the 3 mounting bolts to 25 Nm. In this case, hold the pulley with a wrench with an external hexagon.

Install poly V-belt see p. 29.

Fill the expansion tank up to the MAX mark with new, clean transmission fluid without air bubbles.

Attention: To avoid the formation of air bubbles, pour the transmission fluid slowly.



Connect ground wire (-) battery.

If available, set the clock and enter the radio's anti-theft code.

Remove air from the power steering hydraulic drive.
