Withdrawal




Remove the negative terminal from the battery.

Remove the 2 bolts and remove the power steering pump drive belt guard (see fig 10.55).



Raise the front of the car and fix it on stands Unscrew the screws and remove the lower protective casing of the power steering pump drive belt. Loosen the drive belt tension. by turning the tension adjustment screw clockwise. Remove the drive belt from the power steering pump pulley. Place an appropriate container under the pump. Unscrew the hoses from the pump. Drain the fluid from the hydraulic booster into a container Close the ends of the hoses with plugs (see fig. 10.56).




Insert a 9mm hex wrench into the pump shaft to prevent it from turning and unscrew the 3 pump pulley bolts. Remove the pulley from the pump.

Unscrew the 4 mounting bolts and remove the pump from the car (see fig. 10.57).



Installation


Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal. Tighten the pump mounting bolts to the required torque. Remove the plugs from the pipes and secure the pipes to the pump. Install the drive belt. Pour fluid into the power steering system and check the system for leaks.
