Removal
Remove the negative terminal from the battery.
Prepare the lower front beam of the car for removal.
Unscrew the screws and disconnect the brackets securing the pipes to the steering gear. Place a suitable container under the steering gear. Unscrew the bolt securing the hydraulic valve plate to the valve body on the control shelf. Separate the pipes from the valve body. Remove the pipes from the steering gear and drain the fluid into a container (see Fig. 10.53).

Close the ends of the pipes with plugs. Place jacks under the front beam to support it, then unscrew the 8 bolts securing the beam. Lower the jacks and remove the lower front beam. Unscrew the clamp bolt securing the steering shaft to the steering gear. Unscrew the 2 bolts securing the steering gear to the car.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
After installing and securing the lower beam, remove the plugs from the pipes and check that they are clean. Install new O-rings to the return pipes. Connect them to the steering gear.
Fill the steering system with fluid and check the system for leaks.
