Withdrawal


Remove the negative terminal from the battery.

Prepare for removal of the lower front beam of the car.

Unscrew screws and disconnect brackets of fastening of pipes to the steering mechanism. Install a suitable container under the steering gear. Unscrew the bolt that secures the hydraulic valve strip to the valve body on the control shelf. Separate the pipes from the valve body. Remove the pipes from the steering gear and drain the fluid into a container (see fig. 10.53).



Close the ends of the pipes with stoppers. Install jacks under the front beam to support it, then unscrew the 8 beam fixing bolts. Lower the jacks and remove the lower front beam. Unscrew the clamping bolt securing the steering shaft to the steering mechanism. Unscrew the 2 bolts securing the steering gear to the vehicle.

Installation


Installation is made in sequence, return to removal.

After installing and fixing the lower beam, remove the plugs from the pipelines and check their cleanliness. Install new O-rings to the return lines. Connect them to the steering gear.

Fill fluid into the steering system and check the system for leaks.
