Replacement of rubber protective covers of the steering mechanism

Unscrew the tie rod end and locknut from the tie rod. Remove the clamps and pull off the protective casing from the steering gear and steering rod (see fig. 10.50).



Clean the steering gear and tie rod from old grease. Slide a new protective cover over the steering gear housing and tie rod and secure with clamps.

Install the tie rod end.
