Replacement of rubber covers of the steering mechanism

            0

Rubber boots can be replaced without removing the steering gear from the vehicle.

Disconnect the right or left side of the tie rod from the steering knuckle arm.

Unscrew the tip with the tie rod pipe. Count the number of turns (or number of threads) while unscrewing the tip.

Disconnect the collar of the cover from the side of the steering mechanism (pic. 5.6).

Clean the tie rod and lubricate with tubeless mounting paste.

Install a new cover and secure with new clamps.

Screw the tip into the rod tube with the number of turns you memorized during disassembly.

Connect the tie rod to the steering knuckle arm.

If necessary, repeat the above steps on the other side of the vehicle and replace the second rubber boot.

Set wheel alignment.
