Withdrawal



Disconnect ground wire (-) battery.

Caution: Disconnecting the battery will erase the contents of the electronic memories, such as engine trouble codes or radio codes. Before switching off, also read the instructions in chapter "Removing and installing the battery".


Raise the front of the car on the goats.

Remove the front section of the lower engine compartment cover.

Place a container under the power steering pump to drain the transmission fluid.



Loosen the fastening clamp -B-, remove the return hose and drain the transmission fluid into a suitable container.

Disconnect pressure line -A- from power steering pump.

Loosen the bolts securing the V-belt pulley at the pump, for which the V-belt is compressed and held to prevent the pulley from turning.

Remove the V-belt see p. 29.

Loosen V-belt pulley bolts and remove.



Remove adjusting bolt -A- and securing bolts -C-.


Remove the power steering pump.

Unscrew the adjusting lever from the pump.

Installation



Attach the adjusting lever to the pump and tighten the fastening bolt by hand.

Attach the pump and tighten the adjusting bolt and fastening bolts by hand.

Attach the V-belt pulley to the pump and hand-tighten the mounting bolts.

Connect the liquid return hose to the compensation tank to the pump and secure it with a clamp.

Connect the discharge line to the pump and tighten the banjo bolt to 30 Nm.

Install and tighten the V-belt, see p. 29.

Tighten the V-belt pulley pump bolts to 10 Nm.

Remove the transmission fluid drain container.

Fill the expansion tank up to the MAX mark with new, clean transmission fluid without air bubbles.

Attention: To avoid the formation of air bubbles, pour the transmission fluid slowly.


Connect ground wire (-) battery.

If available, set the clock, and enter the code to protect the radio from deprivation.

Remove air from the power steering hydraulic drive, see next chapter.
