Safety measures during repair work

            0

We have already mentioned this and quite consciously repeat it again: in the work of an amateur, make safety - especially when working on your own car - an absolute priority. Therefore, take on only those tasks that you can actually do. Never take craftwork lightly for which you have had little or no practical experience before. Insufficient repairs will sooner or later lead to fatal consequences in traffic, not only for you, but also for third parties.

Smoking and changing the fuel filter at the same time - why not play Russian roulette right away? So: for all repairs and maintenance work, the cigarette remains in the pack.

Mickey Mouse looks funny. But your ears would be grateful if you wore headphones when cutting metal or doing work with the engine running.

Always wear protective goggles when drilling, grinding and chiselling. Eye protection is also recommended when you are working on the fuel system under the vehicle or cleaning the underside of the vehicle. When welding, you must wear special protective goggles.

Work gloves will protect your hands from dirt and injury from sharp metal. But when working with a drill, they are dangerous. If the drill chuck grabs the mitt, it will pull the hand, which most often ends badly.

Be careful when working in a poorly ventilated inspection pit. Gasoline vapors and exhaust gases can accumulate here. When the engine is running, life is in danger.

You must always replace blown fuses with new ones of the same type and identical amps (A). Never install jumpers made of wire or paper clips! The consequence may be damage to the elements in the corresponding electrical circuit or - much worse - ignition of the wires.

Be careful when working on the ignition system! When the engine is running, the system is under high voltage (in the primary circuit) up to 30,000 V. Therefore, check the ignition system only with the engine turned off. Or organize the test so that you do not have to touch it with your hand while starting the engine.

If you are varnishing large surfaces on your car, you must wear a special mask for painting work. Also make sure that the work area is well ventilated.

Empty spray cans, used oil, brake fluid, paint cans or old brake pads should be sorted and taken separately to special waste collection points in your city or area. Used batteries (starter) accepted by the seller.
