Withdrawal


WARNING: Do not smoke or walk with a lit cigarette or any type of open flame while working on or near fuel related items. In such situations, there are always highly flammable mixtures that can ignite. Failure to follow these instructions may result in injury.


WARNING: This procedure is related to fuel handling. Always be aware of the possibility of fuel splashing and observe fuel handling precautions. Failure to follow these instructions may result in injury.


WARNING: The fuel supply system remains under pressure for a long time after the ignition is switched off. Relieve fuel pressure before starting any repair. Failure to follow these instructions may result in injury.


1. Relieve pressure in the fuel supply system. See Section 310-00 for more information.

2. Disconnect a wire of weight from the accumulator.

NOTE: Fuel line connectors are painted white or identified by a white rim. Fuel return line connectors are colored red or identified by a red rim.


Disconnect the vacuum line and return fuel line.
  • 1. Pull back on the clip to release the latch.
  • 2. Lift the connector to free the line. Disconnect the vacuum line.



4. Remove the fuel pressure regulator.




5. Remove the O-ring and discard it as no longer needed.



Installation

CAUTION: Do not use silicone grease to lubricate the O-rings, as this lubricant can clog fuel injectors.


NOTE: Install the O-ring on the new fuel pressure regulator.


Reinstall the elements in reverse order. To facilitate installation, lubricate the fuel pressure regulator O-ring.
