1-Turbocharger/Exhaust Manifold

The turbocharger consists of two elements: a turbine and a compressor, mounted on one shaft and enclosed in a common housing.

The turbocharger and exhaust manifold are integrated into a single assembly and although they can be separated, they are not supplied separately and should not be separated.

The turbocharger bearings receive oil from the engine via the oil feed line. The oil returns to the oil pan via the oil return line.

The turbine part of the turbocharger is mounted on the exhaust manifold and uses the energy of the exhaust gases to drive the compressor. The compressor draws air from the charge air cooler.

The turbocharger is controlled by a turbine bypass valve. The turbine bypass valve bypasses a portion of the exhaust gases behind the turbine. The turbine bypass valve is controlled by a solenoid valve, which is preset at the factory and is not subject to any subsequent adjustment.

Cars with 115 hp diesel engine.

The turbocharger vane adjustment solenoid valve controls the position of the turbocharger vanes based on the vacuum created by the turbocharger vane adjustment solenoid valve. The turbocharger vane adjustment solenoid valve is controlled by the powertrain control module (PCM). The actual turbocharger boost pressure is controlled by adjusting the vane position of the turbocharger, thereby eliminating the need for a turbine bypass control valve. The turbocharger vane adjustment solenoid valve is preset at the factory and cannot be adjusted in any way.
