The fuel rail is a one-piece die-cast aluminum construction with machined ports to accept the fuel pressure regulator and fuel injectors. The fuel rail is secured to the engine with two bolts.

The pressure regulator is inserted directly into the fuel manifold and secured with two bolts. Sealing is provided by two O-rings.

The fuel pressure regulator is a vacuum operated, spring loaded diaphragm device designed to maintain constant pressure in the fuel rail by diverting excess fuel back to the fuel tank.

The fuel injectors are installed directly into the fuel manifold and are secured by the fuel manifold itself when it is connected to the intake manifold. Sealing is provided by upper and lower O-rings. The fuel injectors are sequentially activated by the powertrain control module, which changes the fuel delivery parameters by adjusting the injector open time in accordance with the operating conditions of the engine.
