Throttle body (1.8L/2.0L/1.6L Zetec-E)

Withdrawal

CAUTION: Do not attempt to clean the throttle body. The bore and butterfly valve have a special coating applied at the factory that must not be removed.

1. Disconnect the air filter outlet pipe.



2. Disconnect the accelerator cable.

• 1. Remove the clip and disconnect the cable from the throttle body.
• 2. Rotate the outer sheath of the cable.

3. Disconnect the accelerator cable.



3. Disconnect the throttle position sensor connector (TP).



4. Remove the throttle body.



5. Remove the throttle body gasket and discard it as no longer needed.

Installation

CAUTION: Do not attempt to clean the throttle body. The bore and butterfly valve have a special coating applied at the factory that must not be removed.

NOTE: Install a new gasket.

Reinstall the elements in reverse order.
