Throttle Body (1.8L/2.0L/1.6L Zetec-E) (Focus 1)

Removal

CAUTION: Do not attempt to clean the throttle body. The bore and throttle body have a special coating applied during manufacture that must not be removed.

1. Disconnect the air cleaner outlet pipe.



2. Disconnect the accelerator cable.

• 1. Remove the clamp and disconnect the cable from the throttle body.
• 2. Turn the outer cable sheath.

3. Disconnect the accelerator cable.



3. Disconnect the throttle position (TP) sensor connector.



4. Remove the throttle body.





5. Remove the throttle body gasket and discard it as no longer needed.

Installation

1.

CAUTION: Do not attempt to clean the throttle body. The bore and throttle body have a special coating applied during manufacture that must not be removed.

NOTE: Install a new gasket.

Install the elements back in place in reverse order.
