Throttle body (1.6L Zetec-SE/1.4L)

Withdrawal

CAUTION: Do not attempt to clean the throttle body. The bore and throttle valve have a special coating applied at the factory that must not be removed.

1. Disconnect the air filter outlet pipe.



2. Disconnect the throttle position sensor electrical connector (TR). Release the wiring harness from the clip.



3. Disconnect the throttle body.



4. Disconnect the accelerator cable.

• 1. Deploy the accelerator cable.
• 2. Remove the clip.
• 3. Disconnect the accelerator cable.

5. Remove the throttle body.

6. Remove the throttle body gasket and discard it as no longer needed.

Installation

CAUTION: Do not attempt to clean the throttle body. The bore and throttle valve have a special coating applied at the factory that must not be removed.

NOTE: Install a new gasket on the throttle body.

NOTE: Follow the correct sequence for tightening the throttle body.

Reinstall the elements in reverse order.
