Removal
WARNING: Do not smoke or carry a lighted cigarette or open flame of any type when working with or near fuel-related items. Highly flammable mixtures are always present in such situations and may ignite. Failure to follow these instructions may result in injury.
1. Relieve fuel system pressure. Refer to Section 310-00 for additional information.
2. Disconnect the ground cable from the battery.
3. Disconnect the engine ventilation hose from the engine cover.

4. Disconnect the idle air control (IAC) valve electrical connector.

5. Disconnect the throttle position (TP) sensor electrical connector.

6. Release the wiring harness from the clamp.

7. Disconnect the fuel lines from the engine cover.

8. Disconnect the fuel injector electrical connectors.

9. Disconnect the fuel pressure regulator vacuum line.

NOTE: Fuel supply line connectors are colored white or identified by a white border. Fuel return line connectors are colored red or identified by a red border.
Disconnect the fuel return line.
- 1. Pull the clamp to release the latch.
- 2. Lift the connector to release the line.

11. Disconnect the fuel supply line.
- 1. Remove the clamp.
- 2. Disconnect the fuel supply line.

12. Remove the fuel manifold.

13. Remove the fuel pressure regulator.
14. Remove the fuel injectors from the fuel rail.
- 1. Slide the clamp to release the nozzle.
- 2. Remove the nozzle.

15. Remove the O-rings and discard them as no longer needed.

Installation

CAUTION: Do not use silicone grease to lubricate the O-rings as this grease may clog the fuel injectors.
NOTE: Install new O-rings onto the injectors.
1. Reinstall the components in reverse order. To facilitate installation, lubricate the O-rings of the fuel injectors with clean engine oil.
