Fuel pump: the Ford Focus has an electric fuel supply pump installed in the fuel tank. The pump and fuel level sensor form a single unit. Fuel filter: in petrol and diesel engines it is installed in front of the fuel injection system. It filters liquid and solid ballast substances in the fuel.

Carbon filter: installed in the engine compartment, binds fuel vapors coming from the fuel tank. When the engine is running, the electromagnetic valve opens - then the bound vapors inevitably get from the carbon filter into the suction system and mix with fresh gas.
