1 – oil pan, 2 – oil supply line to the pump, 3 – gaskets, 4 – oil pump with bracket, 5 – oil pump cover, 6 – bypass valve, 7 – oil filter

Removal and installation the oil pump

1. Unscrew the oil filter.

2. Unscrew the four bolts securing the oil pump to the engine cylinder block.

3. Remove the oil pump.

4. Remove the O-ring.

5. Install a new O-ring.

6. Pour 10 cm³ of oil into the pump.

7. Install the oil pump.

8. Tighten the four bolts securing the oil pump to the engine cylinder block.

9. Screw on the oil filter.

Checking oil pressure

1. Disconnect the electrical connector from the oil pressure sensor.

2. Unscrew the oil pressure sensor.

3. Screw a pressure gauge to measure oil pressure in place of the sensor.

4. Start the engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature.

5. Read the oil pressure value at idle and at an engine speed of 2000 rpm.

6. If the oil pressure does not correspond to the required values (see subsection 3.2.1.2.6), then you should check in turn:
  • pump bypass valve;
  • contamination of the oil pump oil receiver mesh;
  • fastening and capacity of the oil supply pipeline to the pump;
  • degree of wear of the oil pump (excessive clearances of the oil pump gears).

7. Turn off the engine.

8. Disconnect the pressure gauge.

9. Screw in the oil pressure sensor.

10. Connect the electrical connector to the oil pressure sensor.
