Removal
Remove the door trim, see p. 135.
Open the door and use a Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the screw securing the outer rubber seal of the door shaft from the side of the locking mechanism. For the rear door, you need to remove the second screw securing it from the side of the front edge of the door.
Lift the rubber seal on the side of the locking mechanism and carefully remove it from the door.
Remove the black plastic clips from the door edge. Carefully peel off the protective film.
Caution: The film tears very easily.
Holding the window glass firmly, unscrew the two screws "A" securing the glass to the lifting mechanism. Carefully lower the window glass.
Front door: unscrew bolt "A" securing the front guide.
Rear door: unscrew the two "arrow" bolts securing the rear window glass guide and remove the guide.
Turn the window glass to detach it from the guide and, as shown in the figure, remove it from the door.
Installation
Insert the window glass into the door and into the guide.
Rear door: place the guide and secure it with two bolts.
Front door: position and tighten the front guide mounting bolt.
Note: The position of the window glass guides is adjustable. Check whether the window glass opens and closes easily after tightening the guide mounting bolts. If the window glass moves with difficulty, try adjusting the position of the front guide first. If this is not enough, adjust the position of the rear guide using the mounting bolts (shown by arrows in Figure F-48119).
Raise the window glass upwards with the lifting mechanism and insert both screws that secure the glass to the lifting mechanism. Insert the screws so that they enter the longitudinal opening of the lifting mechanism at the bottom.
Place the outer rubber seal in the installation position - if necessary, press under the trim - and carefully press it into the door frame with your palms.
Attach and tighten the mounting screws.
Stick the protective film without folds.
Seal the torn areas with wide adhesive tape.
Note: If the protective film is not applied correctly, a draft will form in the car interior when the vehicle is moving.
