Door adjustment (Scorpio I) (Scorpio 2)

The FORD SCORPIO car has gaps around the perimeter of the doors that are not adjustable, since the door hinges are welded. If the gaps around the perimeter are not the same, you should contact a FORD service station. If the door does not close tightly, you can adjust the door locking pin.



Open the door and loosen the two "arrow" bolts securing the locking plate so that the plate can move when lightly tapped on it.

Close the door slowly and make sure that the locking pin on the plate exactly matches the notch on the door locking device. If necessary, correct the position of the locking pin with light blows of a hammer.

Open and close the door carefully at least three times.

Tighten the locking plate mounting bolts until the door closes and opens easily while still fitting snugly against the body.
