Cylinder head assembly

1 - cylinder head cover, 2 - pressure plates, 3 - cover gasket, 4 - camshaft, 5 - camshaft mounting plate, 6 - head bolt, 7 - valve lever spring, 8 - valve lever, 9 - bolt with ball tip (valve lever support), 10 - crackers, 11 - spring plate, 12 - guide sleeve, 14 - valve, 15 - camshaft bearing bushings, 16 - oil supply line to camshaft bearings, 17 - cylinder head gasket, 18 - cylinder head, 19 - camshaft sealing ring

Air filter assembly

1 - housing, 2 - cover, 3 - filter element, 4 - corrugated air intake hose, 5 - warm air intake

1. Disconnect ground wire from battery.

2. Drain the coolant from the cooling system.

3. Remove the air filter, disconnect the pipes and rods from the carburetor and intake manifold.

4. Disconnect the electrical wires from the carburetor and cylinder head.

5. Disconnect the high voltage wires from the spark plugs and remove the high voltage distributor.

6. Disconnect the coolant lines from the carburetor starter chamber, the upper hose from the radiator, and the expansion tank hose from the cylinder head.

7. Disconnect the exhaust pipe from the exhaust manifold (3 nuts).

8. Remove the timing belt guard (3 bolts), as well as the cylinder head cover (10 bolts) along with its seal.

9. Set the piston of cylinder 1 to top dead center by turning the crankshaft by the bolt securing the V-belt pulley in the direction of working rotation until the top dead center mark aligns with the mark on the crankshaft front sealing ring housing, and the mark on the camshaft pulley will not line up with the mark on the cylinder head. Mark the position of the distributor rotor in relation to the distributor housing, for which remove the distributor cover by lifting the 2 side mounting brackets with a screwdriver and unscrewing the 2 screws securing the cover.

10. Unscrew fastening of the timing belt tensioner (fixture 21.012), loosen it and tighten it in this position.

11. Remove timing belt from timing system.

12. Unscrew the spark plugs and unscrew the cylinder head bolts (attachment 21.002) in the reverse order of their tightening.

13. Remove the cylinder head from the engine block.

Attention! Do not place the cylinder head with the lower plane on a horizontal surface, as this threatens to damage the valves protruding below the plane. The cylinder head should be placed on two wooden blocks so that the valve plates do not touch anything.
