Removal
1. Remove the negative cable from the battery.
2. Raise and secure the front of the vehicle.
3. Remove the crankcase guard and drain the engine oil.
4. Remove the starter.
5. Unscrew the two nuts securing the engine brackets to the supports.
6. Loosen the steering shaft cardan joint bolts, ensuring their mutual mobility.
7. Remove the brake pipes from the clamps on the front crossbar. Attach the engine to a lifting mechanism and lift it so that the weight of the engine is supported by the lifting mechanism.
8. Place a jack under the front beam, remove the beam support bolts and, carefully lowering the jack, lower the beam.
9. Unscrew the 23 oil pan mounting bolts and remove the oil pan.
10. Remove the oil pan gasket.
Installation
1. Apply sealant to the corners of the front and rear seal mounting surfaces and install the seals into the grooves of the rear bearing cap and the front crankshaft bearing cap.
2. Apply sealant to the mating surface on the cylinder block, install the oil pan gasket onto the cylinder block, hooking the ends of the gasket onto the bottom of the seals.
3. Install the oil pan and tighten the bolts to the specified torque. Tighten the bolts in a circle to a torque of 1–2 Nm starting from point A, then to a torque of 6–8 Nm starting from point B, and finally tighten to a torque of 8–10 Nm after 20 minutes of engine operation.
