Two-barrel carburetors Pierburg 2V and Pierburg 2E3 are installed on OHC engines. The design of the carburetors is identical, only the technical characteristics differ.

Vertical flow carburetor with automatic choke. Throttle valves are arranged in such a way that the primary opens first, and then the secondary follows, so that both valves are fully open at the same time. The second chamber damper drive is controlled by a thermo-pneumatic valve and ensures the operation of the second chamber damper only on a hot engine.

The air damper is controlled by the engine coolant and electrically. Electric heating is controlled by a thermal switch. The vacuum starter opens the damper a little when the engine starts.

When the throttle is suddenly opened, the accelerator pump sprays additional fuel into the diffuser.

Econostat provides enrichment of the mixture at full throttle opening.
