Two-chamber carburetors Pierburg 2V and Pierburg 2E3 are installed on OHC engines. The design of the carburetors is identical, only the technical characteristics differ.

Vertical flow carburetor with automatic choke. The throttle valves are designed so that the primary valve opens first, followed by the secondary valve, so that both valves are fully open at the same time. The drive of the second chamber valve is controlled by a thermo-pneumatic valve and ensures that the second chamber valve operates only when the engine is hot.

The air damper is controlled by the engine coolant and electrically. The electric heating is controlled by a thermal switch. A vacuum starting device slightly opens the damper when the engine is started.



When the throttle valve is opened sharply, the accelerator pump sprays additional fuel into the diffuser.

The economizer provides enrichment of the mixture when the throttle valve is fully open.
