Adjusting the air damper starter

The starting device is shown by the arrow.
1. Remove the air filter housing.
2. Unscrew the central bolt securing the coolant chamber and remove the chamber. There are O-ring seals under the bolt head and around the perimeter of the chamber.
3. There are marks on the bimetallic spring housing and the throttle lever holder. If there are no marks, they must be applied. Unscrew the three screws holding the ring clamp and remove the clamp and housing.
4. Close the air damper completely by turning the air damper drive lever clockwise until it stops and securing it in this position with a rubber band.
5. Move the choke actuator lever to the vacuum diaphragm assembly of the starting device. To do this, set the idle speed adjustment screw to the upper stage of the cam.
6. Measure the gap between the edge of the air damper and the carburetor wall using a drill or measuring rod. The gap should be 3 mm.
7. If necessary, make adjustments using a 2 mm Allen key.
