1. Warm up the engine to operating temperature.
2. Remove the air filter housing.

3. Start the engine and set the fast idle adjustment screw (indicated by the arrow) to the second highest position of the fast idle cam.
4. Measure engine speed.
5. Remove the seal from the fast idle screw. Turn off the engine and open the throttle, freeing access to the screw. Turn the screw clockwise to increase the speed or counterclockwise to decrease it. Move the screw to the II highest cam stage and check the engine speed. Repeat the adjustment if necessary.
