1. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Remove the steering wheel (see "Removal and installation the steering wheel"), having previously set it to a position corresponding to rectilinear movement.

3. Remove the instrument panel trim (see "Removal and installation the instrument panel").

4. Remove the steering column cover (see "Removal and installation steering column covers").

5. Remove the steering column switches (see "Replacing steering column switches").

6. Press the latch..

7. …and disconnect the connector.

8. Remove the screw…

9. …and remove the contact ring.
Caution! To avoid damaging the airbag contact ring when removing the ring, secure the contact ring in the middle position from turning by taping it with masking tape.

10. Disconnect the wiring harness from the immobilizer transponder…

11. …and from the ignition switch contact group.

12. In the car's interior, under the instrument panel, unscrew the bolt that connects the steering shaft to the steering gear shaft..
Note: Before separating the shafts, mark their relative positions.

13. …and separate the shafts.

14. Unscrew the nuts…

Note: This is how the steering column mounting studs are located.

15. …and remove the steering column.
Note: When replacing the steering column, remove the ignition switch (see "Removal and installation the ignition switch (lock)").
16. Install all removed parts in the reverse order of removal.
