Replacing steering column switches (Fusion)

You will need a flat-blade screwdriver.

1. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.

2. Remove the upper part of the steering column cover (see "Removal and installation steering column covers").

3. Press the locking button of the exterior lighting steering column switch…

4. …and remove the steering column switch from the base.

5. Squeeze the latch…

6. …disconnect the wiring harness connector from the exterior lighting steering column switch terminal and remove the switch.

7. Press the locking device of the windshield wiper and washer switch…

7. Press the locking device of the windshield wiper and washer switch…


8. …and remove the steering column switch from the base.



8. …and remove the steering column switch from the base.


9. Squeeze the retainer, disconnect the wiring harness connector from the windshield wiper and washer switch terminal and remove it.

10. Install the steering column switches and all previously removed parts in reverse order.
