Central Timer Module (CTM)

This module has two versions:
- standard version for cars with manual transmission
- extended version for cars with automatic transmission
Standard version features:

Intermittent cleaning mode, front wiper
If the windscreen wiper control switch is set to the intermittent wiping position with the ignition on, the windscreen wipers operate at fixed intervals (8.0±2.0 seconds). On vehicles so equipped, the wiping delay interval can be selected in the range between 1.0 and 22.0 seconds by moving the potentiometer on the multi-function switch to one of the positions: 1 to 6. The intermittent wiping mode is activated periodically until the switch is moved from the "Intermittent wiping" position. If the potentiometer is used to change the delay period during operation in the intermittent mode, the wiping cycle is first completed and only then a new wiping interval is activated. If the switch is switched off and then on again during the pause, the intermittent mode is immediately switched on again with the set delay interval. The STM module sends the appropriate pulses to the windscreen wiper relay, on the basis of which the relay activates the windscreen wiper motor.
Intermittent cleaning mode, rear wiper
When the rear wiper control switch is turned on with the ignition on, the rear wipers operate at fixed intervals (12.0±3.0 seconds). After each complete wipe cycle and the end of the delay time, the CTM module sends a pulse (0.6±0.2 seconds) to the rear wiper relay. The rear wiper motor is switched off by its own limit switch.
Rear window washer with cleaning function
When the rear window washer switch is turned on, the washer pump and rear window wiper are turned on. When the rear window wiper switch is released, the washer pump is immediately turned off. The operating time of the rear window wiper is (4.0 s±1.0 s). The ground pulse duration for the rear window wiper relay is transmitted by the CTM and is 0.6 s±0.2 s.
Windshield washer with cleaning function
When the windshield washer switch is turned on, the windshield washer pump and windshield wipers are turned on. When the windshield washer switch is released, the windshield washer pump is immediately turned off. The windshield wiper motor performs 2-3 cleaning cycles and is then turned off by the CTM via the windshield wiper relay or limit switch.
Rear window heating
To turn on the rear window heating, press and hold the rear window heating switch for at least 30 ms. After that, the rear window heating is turned on for 10 minutes±2 minutes via the rear window heating relay. During these 10 minutes, the rear window heating can be turned off by pressing the rear window heating switch again or by turning off the ignition. In such states, the STM module sends a signal to the rear window heating relay, which, in turn, turns on the rear window heating. If the ignition switch is turned to the "Start" position with the rear window heating on, the heating is temporarily turned off for this period of time.
Heated windshield
To activate the heated windshield, press and hold the heated windshield switch for at least 30 ms. The heated windshield is then activated for 4 minutes±1 minute via the heated windshield relay. During these 4 minutes, the heated windshield can be switched off by pressing the heated windshield switch again or by switching off the ignition. The heated windshield can only be activated if the generator supplies voltage, i.e. when the engine is running. Under these conditions, the CTM sends a ground signal to the heated windshield relay, which in turn activates the heated windshield.
Doorway lighting
For vehicles without a remote control system. The interior lights turn on when one of the doors is opened, regardless of the position of the ignition key, provided that the car is not locked and the interior light switch is set to the "Delay Off" position. Within 0.5 s, the STM module adjusts the brightness of the lamps from zero to maximum. When the doors are closed, two options are possible. The interior lights continue to burn at full intensity for 20 s, and then gradually go out completely within 5 s. If the ignition is turned on after the doors are closed, the lights will dim until they are completely off within 2 s.
For vehicles with a remote control system. When the vehicle is unlocked using the remote control, the anti-theft alarm/double door locking system activates the STM module. This module adjusts the brightness of the lamps from zero to maximum for 0.5 seconds before the door is opened. When the vehicle is locked using the remote control, the interior lights go out for 2 seconds.
If the ignition is switched off before the exterior lighting, the interior lighting remains on for 20 seconds at full brightness and then dims and goes out within 5 seconds. The same thing happens when the interior lighting is switched off with the ignition on and the ignition is switched off within the next 20 seconds.
30 minutes after the ignition is switched off, the STM module switches off the interior lighting using an energy-saving relay if one of the doors is open and the interior lighting switch is set to the "Off delay" position.
The STM module does not control the luggage compartment light.
Energy saving relay
30 minutes after the ignition is switched off, the STM module switches off the energy-saving relay and switches to the "Off" mode. This mode is active until one of the following actions is performed: unlocking the car using the remote control, opening the passenger compartment door or the rear luggage compartment door, turning the ignition key to the "Radio" or "Ignition" position. Then the STM module reactivates the energy-saving relay and again supplies current to the previously disconnected vehicle components (interior lighting lamps, electric mirror adjustment mechanism).
Sound signal
The following modules require the STM module to emit a chime: the trip computer module, the anti-theft alarm/dual locking module, and the air bag module. Since the modules that request a chime do not have a chime, they send a pulse to the appropriate input of the STM module, at which point the STM module in turn sends a specific chime. The STM determines which chime to send based on the length of the incoming pulse. The air bag module sends a pulse to the STM module if the indicator lamp in the instrument cluster socket is activated by the STM module but is faulty. Otherwise, the air bag module sends a pulse to the STM module each time the ignition is turned on to establish contact with the module connector. The trip computer module sends a signal to the STM module if the fuel level drops below a certain level or as a confirmation each time any of the trip computer module switches are pressed.
Light On Warning Sound Block
If the driver's door is opened with the ignition on, and the parking lights, low beam or high beam continue to light, the buzzer (built into the STM module) sounds an audible signal. The buzzer turns off when the exterior lights are turned off, the driver's door is closed or the energy-saving relay is turned off after 30 minutes.
Seat belt system warning
If the ignition is on and the seat belt is not fastened, the warning buzzer sounds for 4-8 s and the seat belt buckle indicator lamp on the instrument panel lights up. The indicator lamp goes out if the seat belt is fastened to the buckle within 80 s±15 s. If this happens while the buzzer is sounding, the buzzer also goes out. The indicator lamp continues to light if the seat belt is not fastened to the buckle within 80 s. The input signal is transmitted to the STM module when the contact in the seat belt buckle closes.
Reverse gear engagement warning
In vehicles with an automatic transmission, a warning sound with a frequency of 3 Hz sounds 0.8 s after the gearshift lever is moved to the "R" (reverse) position. The input signal is transmitted to the STM module from the transmission range (TR) sensor.
Ignition Key Position Warning
The STM module buzzer transmits an audible warning signal when the ignition key is turned to the "R" or "Off" position if the driver's door is open. Input signals are transmitted to the STM module from the ignition key position sensor and the driver's door switch.
Warning - Gearshift Lever Not in Park Position
The STM module buzzer transmits an audible warning signal if the gearshift lever is not in the "P" position (parking position) and the driver's door is open. Input signals are transmitted to the STM module from the sensor and from the driver's door switch. The buzzer turns off when the gearshift lever is moved to the "P" position, the driver's door is closed, or the energy-saving relay is turned off after 30 minutes. The audible signal is also transmitted when the lighting warning signal and the parking position signal are transmitted simultaneously. The buzzer turns off only when the conditions for its activation no longer apply, i.e. when the gearshift lever is in the "P" position, the driver's door is closed, or the exterior lights are turned off.
Trip computer module

The trip computer module has the following functions:
- Windshield washer fluid low level warning
- Ice warning
- Display of outside temperature in°C or°F
- Display of average fuel consumption in liters per 100 km or miles per gallon
- Display of current fuel consumption in liters per 100 km or miles per gallon
- Display of remaining distance to refueling in km or miles
- Display average speed in km/h or m/h
A confirmation sound is heard each time the switch is pressed (the set or reset button on the module or the switch button located on the steering column). This signal is transmitted by the STM module at the request of the trip computer.
Windshield washer fluid low level warning
The windshield washer fluid reservoir contact sends a signal to the trip computer module when the fluid level drops below a certain level. A special program is then executed to stop the rapid flashing of the display caused by the movement of the reservoir contact. The indicator lamp comes on after approximately 30 seconds.
Ice warning
The outside temperature sensor transmits the current outside temperature to the trip computer module. When a certain temperature change occurs, the trip computer module issues an ice warning output signal, warning the driver about ice on the road:

Outdoor temperature display
The trip computer module converts the resistance values from the outside temperature sensor. The display can show temperatures in the range between -40°C and +65°C / -40°F and +149°F. If the measured values are outside this range or if there is an open or short circuit in the circuit, the display shows "-°C" or "-°F". The module corrects the measured temperature, which is affected by the heat radiated by the engine. When the ignition is switched off, the last value shown on the display is saved for one hour.
Display of average fuel consumption in liters per 100 km or miles per gallon
The average fuel consumption value is calculated for the last 1000 km or since the last reset. The display is not updated until the change in the value exceeds 1 liter per km/min or 2 mpg/min.
Display of current fuel consumption in liters per 100 km or mpg (miles per gallon)
Current fuel consumption in liters per 100 km is calculated using the following formula: 100 x fuel consumption in the last second / mileage in the last second.
Current fuel consumption in miles per gallon is calculated using the following formula: last second's mileage/last second's fuel consumption.
The maximum value that can be displayed on the display is 55 litres/100 km or 99 mpg. If the signal frequency from the vehicle speed sensor (VSS) drops below 7 Hz, i.e. 5 km/h, the display switches to litres per hour. If the signal frequency increases to 9 Hz, the display switches back to litres per 100 km.
Display of remaining distance to refueling
The remaining distance is calculated using the following formula: 100 x current fuel level/average consumption.
The trip computer module calculates the current fuel level based on the resistance values sent by the fuel gauge sensor:

Since the input signal level continuously fluctuates due to the movement of fuel in the fuel tank, the trip computer module processes the value with a certain delay using an algorithm. If an open or short circuit occurs in the electrical circuit to the fuel flow sensor sensor, the display shows: (----).
The STM module transmits an audible warning signal if the following estimated values of the remaining distance to refueling are received: 80 km (50 miles), 40 km (25 miles), 20 km (10 miles) and 0 km (0 miles). In this case, the display automatically switches to the remaining distance to refueling mode, regardless of the mode it is in.
The display of the remaining distance to refueling is not updated if the distance traveled is less than 5 km (3 miles) or if the ignition has been on for less than five minutes. If there is more than 9 liters (2 gallons) in the fuel tank, the value is immediately recalculated and displayed.
Average speed display
The average vehicle speed is calculated for the last 1000 km or since the last reset. If the current speed increases by more than 1 km/h per second, the display is not updated.
Anti-theft/double door lock module

There are five versions of this module with the following features:
- Central locking
- Central locking and remote control
- Central locking, double door locking and remote control
- Central locking, double door locking, remote control and alarm system
- Central locking, double door locking, remote control and alarm system with ultrasonic scanning of the interior.
