  • extended version for vehicles with automatic transmission

Features of the standard version:
  • Intermittent wipe mode, front wiper
  • Intermittent wiping, rear wiper
  • Rear window washer with cleaning function
  • Front windshield washer with cleaning function
  • Rear window heating
  • Heated windshield
  • Doorway lighting
  • Energy saving relay
  • Audible signal requested by trip computer module, anti-theft alarm/double door lock module and airbag module
  • Block of a sound signal of the warning about the included lighting

Additional features of the extended version:
  • Seat belt warning
  • Reverse gear warning
  • Key position warning
  • Warning - shift lever not in park position

Intermittent wipe mode, front wiper

If the wiper control switch is set to the intermittent wipe position with the ignition on, the wipers operate at fixed intervals (8.0±2.0 seconds). On vehicles equipped in this way, the cleaning delay interval can be selected between 1.0 and 22.0 seconds by moving the potentiometer on the multifunction switch to one of the positions: from 1 to 6. The intermittent cleaning mode is activated periodically, until the switch is moved from the position «Intermittent cleaning». If the potentiometer is used to change the delay period during intermittent operation, the cleaning cycle ends first, and only then the new cleaning interval starts. If the switch is switched off and on again during the pause, the intermittent operation is immediately switched on again with the set delay interval. The STM module sends appropriate pulses to the windshield wiper relay, on the basis of which the relay activates the windshield wiper motor.

Intermittent wiping, rear wiper

If the rear wiper control switch is turned on with the ignition on, the rear wipers operate at fixed intervals (12.0±3.0 seconds). After each complete cleaning cycle and the end of the delay time, the CTM sends a pulse (0.6±0.2 seconds) to the rear wiper relay. The rear wiper motor is switched off by its own limit switch.

Rear window washer with cleaning function

When the rear window washer switch is turned on, the washer pump and rear window wiper are turned on. Releasing the rear window wiper switch immediately switches off the washer pump. The operating time of the rear wiper is (4.0 s±1.0 s). The duration of the ground pulse for the rear wiper relay is transmitted by the CTM and is 0.6 s±0.2 s.

Windshield washer with cleaning function

Turning on the windshield washer switch activates the washer pump and windshield wipers. Releasing the windshield washer switch immediately switches off the washer pump. The windshield wiper motor performs 2-3 cleaning cycles and is then turned off by the CTM via the windshield wiper relay or limit switch.

Rear window heating

To turn on the heated rear window, press and hold the heated rear window switch for at least 30 ms. The heated rear window is then switched on for 10 minutes±2 minutes via the heated rear window relay. During these 10 minutes, the rear window heating can be turned off by pressing the rear window heating switch again or by switching off the ignition. In these states, the CTM module sends a signal to the heated rear window relay, which in turn turns on the heated rear window. If the ignition switch is turned to the position «Start» when the heated rear window is on, the heating is temporarily turned off for this period of time.

Heated windshield

To turn on the heated windshield, press and hold the heated windshield switch for at least 30 ms. After that, the heated windshield is switched on for 4 minutes±1 minute via the heated windshield relay. During these 4 minutes, the heated windshield can be turned off by pressing the heated windshield switch again or by turning off the ignition. The heated windshield can only be activated if the alternator is supplying voltage, i.e. with the engine running. Under these conditions, the CTM sends a ground signal to the heated windshield relay, which in turn turns on the heated windshield.

Doorway lighting

For vehicles without a remote control system. The interior lights come on when one of the doors is opened, regardless of the position of the ignition key, provided the vehicle is not locked and the interior light switch is set to «Shutdown delay». Within 0.5 s, the STM module adjusts the brightness of the lamps from zero to maximum. When closing the doors, there are two options. The interior lamps remain on at full glow for 20 seconds and then gradually go out completely over 5 seconds. If the ignition is turned on after the doors are closed, the lights will dim until completely off within 2 seconds.

For vehicles with remote control system. If the vehicle is unlocked using the remote control, the anti-theft alarm/double door lock system will activate the CTM module. This module dims the lamps from zero to maximum within 0.5s before opening the door. If the vehicle is locked using the remote control, the interior lamps will go out within 2s.

If the ignition is switched off before the exterior lighting is switched off, the interior lighting will come on for 20 seconds at full brightness and then dim for 5 seconds. The same happens when the interior lighting lamps are turned off with the ignition on and the ignition is turned off within the next 20 seconds.

30 minutes after the ignition is turned off, the CTM module turns off the interior lighting using an energy-saving relay if one of the doors is open and the interior lighting switch is set to «Shutdown delay».

The CTM module does not control the luggage compartment light.

Energy saving relay

30 minutes after the ignition is turned off, the STM module turns off the energy-saving relay and switches to the mode «Turned off». This mode is active until one of the following actions is performed: unlocking the car using the remote control, opening the passenger compartment door or tailgate, turning the ignition key to the «Radio» or «Ignition». Then the STM module reactivates the energy-saving relay and re-energizes the previously disconnected vehicle elements with current (interior lighting lamps, electric mirror adjustment mechanism).

Sound signal

The following modules require the CTM to beep: Trip Computer Module, Anti-Theft Alarm/Dual Door Lock Module, and Airbag Module. Because the modules that request beeps do not have audible alarm systems, they send a pulse to the appropriate input of the STM module, at which point the STM module in turn sends a specific beep. The STM determines which audio signal to transmit based on the length of the incoming pulse. The airbag module sends a pulse to the STM if the warning lamp in the instrument panel socket is activated by the STM but is faulty. Otherwise, the airbag module sends a pulse to the STM module each time the ignition is turned on to make contact with the module connector. The trip computer module sends a signal to the CTM module if the fuel level drops below a certain level, or as an acknowledgment each time any of the trip computer module switches is pressed.

Block of a sound signal of the warning about the included lighting

If the driver's door is opened with the ignition on and the parking lamps, low beam or high beam remain on, the buzzer will sound (built into the STM module). The buzzer turns off when the exterior lights are turned off, the driver's door is closed, or the energy-saving relay is turned off after 30 minutes.

Seat belt warning

If the ignition is on and the seat belt is not fastened, the warning buzzer will sound for 4-8 seconds and the seat belt buckle warning light on the instrument panel will illuminate. The control lamp goes out if the seat belt is fastened to the lock within 80 s±15 s. If this happens while the buzzer is sounding, the buzzer will also turn off. The control lamp continues to burn if the seat belt is not fastened to the lock within 80 seconds. An input signal is sent to the CTM when the contact in the seat belt buckle closes.

Reverse gear warning

On vehicles with automatic transmission, a 3 Hz warning tone sounds 0.8 seconds after the shift lever is moved to the «R» (reverse gear). The input signal is sent to the STM module from the transmission range sensor (TR).

Key position warning

The CTM module buzzer emits an audible warning signal when the ignition key is turned to the «R» or «Off», while the driver's door is open. Input signals are transmitted to the CTM module from the ignition key position sensor and the driver's door switch.

Warning - shift lever not in park position

The CTM module buzzer emits an audible warning signal if the shift lever is not in the «R» (parking position), while the driver's door is open. Input signals are sent to the CTM from the sensor and from the driver's door door switch. The buzzer stops when the gear lever is moved to the «R», closing the driver's door or turning off the energy-saving relay after 30 minutes. The transmission of the horn also occurs when the warning light signal and the parking position signal are transmitted at the same time. The buzzer turns off only when the conditions for its activation cease to apply, i.e. when the gear lever is in position «R», the driver's door is closed, or the exterior lights are off.

Trip computer module

The trip computer module has the following functions:
  • Washer Fluid Low Warning
  • Ice Warning
  • Outdoor temperature display in°C or°F
  • Display of average fuel consumption in liters per 100 km or miles per gallon
  • Display of current fuel consumption in liters per 100 km or miles per gallon
  • Display remaining distance to refuel in km or miles
  • Average speed display in km/h or m/h

Confirmation beep sounds every time the switch is pressed (the set or reset button on the module or on the switch button located on the steering column). This signal is transmitted by the STM module at the request of the trip computer.

Washer Fluid Low Warning

The washer fluid reservoir contact sends a signal to the trip computer module when the washer fluid level falls below a certain level. Then a special program is executed to stop the rapid flashing of the display due to the movement of the tank contact. The indicator lamp turns on after approximately 30 seconds.

Ice Warning

The outside temperature sensor transmits the current value of the outside temperature to the trip computer module. At a certain change in temperature, the trip computer module generates an ice warning output signal to warn the driver of ice on the road:

Outdoor temperature display

The trip computer module converts the resistance values coming from the outside temperature sensor. The display can show temperatures between -40°C and + 65°C / -40°F and +149°F. If the measured values are outside this range, or if an open or short circuit occurs in the circuit, the display shows «- °C» or «- °F». The module corrects the measured temperature, which is affected by the heat radiated by the engine. When the ignition is switched off, the last value shown on the display is stored for one hour.

Display of average fuel consumption in liters per 100 km or miles per gallon

The value of the average fuel consumption is calculated for the last 1000 km or since the last reset. The display is not updated until the change in value exceeds 1 liter per km/min or 2 mpg/min.

Display of current fuel consumption in liters per 100 km or mpg (miles per gallon)

The current fuel consumption in liters per 100 km is calculated using the following formula: 100 x fuel consumption in the last second / mileage in the last second.

Current miles per gallon fuel consumption is calculated using the following formula: last second mileage / last second fuel consumption.

The maximum value that can be shown on the display is 55 liters/100 km or 99 mpg. If the frequency of the signal from the vehicle speed sensor (VSS) drops below 7 Hz, i.e. 5 km/h, display switches to liters per hour. If the signal frequency rises to 9 Hz, the display switches back to liters per 100 km.

Remaining distance to refuel display

The remaining distance is calculated using the following formula: 100 x current fuel level / average consumption.

The trip computer module calculates the current fuel level based on the resistance values sent by the fuel gauge sensor:

Values sent by the fuel level sensor:

EnginesContentResistance value
Gasoline enginesapproximately 1 liter15 ohm
Gasoline enginesapproximately 50 liters160 ohm
Diesel enginesapproximately 1 liter15 ohm
Diesel enginesapproximately 45 liters160 ohm

Since the input signal level fluctuates continuously due to the movement of fuel in the fuel tank, the trip computer module processes the value with a certain delay using an algorithm. If an open or short circuit occurs in the electrical circuit to the fuel flow sensor sensor, the display will show: (----).

The STM module emits an audible warning signal if the following estimated remaining distance to refueling is received: 80 km (50 miles), 40 km (25 miles), 20 km (10 miles) and 0 km (0 miles). In this case, the display automatically switches to display the remaining distance to refuel, regardless of the mode in which it is located.

The remaining distance to refueling displayed on the display is not updated if the distance traveled is less than 5 km (3 miles), or if the ignition has been on for less than five minutes. If there is more than 9 liters in the fuel tank (2 gallons), the value is immediately recalculated and shown on the display.

Average speed display

The average vehicle speed is calculated for the last 1000 km or since the last reset. If the current speed increases by more than 1 km/h per second, the display is not updated.

Anti-theft/double door lock module

There are five versions of this module with the following features:
  • Central locking
  • Central locking and remote control
  • Central locking, double door locking and remote control
  • Central locking, double door locking, remote control and alarm system
