Air filter assembly
1 – housing, 2 – cover, 3 – filter element, 4 – corrugated air intake hose, 5 – warm air intake
1. Disconnect the ground wire from the battery.
2. Drain the coolant from the cooling system (unscrew the plug on the right side of the cylinder block, and also disconnect the lower elastic hose from the radiator).
3. Remove the air filter, disconnect the pipes and rods from the carburetor and intake manifold.
4. Disconnect the electrical wires from the carburetor and cylinder head.
5. Disconnect the high-voltage wires from the spark plugs and remove the high-voltage distributor.
6. Disconnect the coolant lines from the carburetor starter chamber, the upper hose from the radiator, and the expansion tank hose from the cylinder head.
Caution! Do not place the cylinder head with its lower plane on a horizontal surface, as this may damage the valves protruding below the plane. The cylinder head should be positioned so that the valve plates do not touch anything.
