1. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.

2. Remove the top…

3. …and the lower part of the steering column cover (see "Removal and installation steering column covers").

4. Remove the steering column switches (see "Replacing steering column switches").

5. Press the latch..

6. …and disconnect the wiring harness connector from the contact ring terminals.

7. Remove the contact ring mounting screw…

8. …and remove the contact ring.
Caution! To avoid damaging the airbag contact ring when removing it, secure the contact ring in the middle position to prevent it from turning, for example by taping it with masking tape.

9. Disconnect the wiring harness from the immobilizer antenna unit…

10. …push the antenna block retainer with a screwdriver…

11. …and remove the immobilizer antenna unit.
Note: For clarity, further operations are shown with the steering column removed.
12. Insert the key into the switch and turn it to the "I" position.

13. Insert the pin into the hole located at the bottom of the switch housing, press the lock…

14. …and remove the lock cylinder from the housing.
15. Install the ignition switch (lock) cylinder and all previously removed parts in reverse order.
