Replacing the ignition switch cylinder (Focus 2)

You will need: a flat-blade screwdriver, a ∅ 2 mm pin.

1. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.

4. Use a screwdriver to press the immobilizer antenna unit retainer…



NOTE: Steering wheel, paddle shifters and connector have been removed for clarity.

5. …and move the block to the side without disconnecting the wire from it.

NOTE: For clarity, the following steps are shown with the ignition switch (lock) removed.

6. Insert the key into the switch and turn it to the "I" position.

7. Insert the pin into the hole located at the bottom of the switch housing, press the lock…

8. …and remove the lock cylinder from the housing.

9. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
