It is recommended to keep a separate label with the key number or rewrite the number in order to speed up obtaining a duplicate in case of loss or breakage of the key.
Key positions in the ignition switch lock (Fig. 2)
0 — the steering column is locked by the anti-theft device. The ignition circuits are de-energized. To unlock the steering column and supply voltage to the car's electrical circuits, insert the key into the ignition switch and, while slightly rocking the steering wheel, turn the key clockwise to position I.
I — the steering column is unlocked, but the electrical circuits, except for the power supply circuit of the on-board radio, are de-energized.
II - all electrical circuits are live. When towing the vehicle, set the ignition key to this position.
NOTE Do not leave the key in this position for a long time - when the engine is not running, the ignition coil becomes very hot and may fail.
III — position of short-term voltage supply to the starter traction relay when starting the engine. The key is not fixed in this position — the return spring returns the key to position II.
