Replacing the ignition switch (lock) cylinder

You will need: a flat-blade screwdriver, a pin with a diameter of 2 mm.

1. Disconnect a wire from the minus plug of the storage battery.

2. Remove the top and bottom of the steering column cover (see Removing and installing steering column cover).



3. Remove the steering wheel (see Steering wheel removal and installation).



4. Remove paddle shifters (see Replacing Paddles).

5. Disconnect the wiring harness block from the output of the immobilizer antenna unit..

NOTE: For clarity, further operations are shown on the removed steering column.




6.... press the antenna unit lock with a screwdriver..




7.... and remove the immobilizer antenna unit.



8. Insert the key into the switch and turn it to the "I" position.



9. Insert the pin into the hole located in the lower part of the switch body, press the latch..



10.... and remove the lock cylinder from the body.



11. Install the switch cylinder (castle) ignition and all previously removed parts in the reverse order of removal.
