Replacing the ignition switch cylinder (Mondeo 4)

You will need: a flat-blade screwdriver, a 2mm pin.

1. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.

2. Remove the upper and lower parts of the steering column cover (see Removing and installing the steering column cover).

3. Remove the steering wheel (see Removing and installing the steering wheel).

4. Remove the steering column switches (see Replacing steering column switches).

5. Disconnect the wiring harness connector from the immobilizer antenna unit terminal…

8. Insert the key into the switch and turn it to the "I" position.

10….and remove the lock cylinder from the housing.

11. Install the ignition switch (lock) cylinder and all previously removed parts in the reverse order of removal.
