1. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Remove the upper and lower parts of the steering column cover (see Removing and installing the steering column cover).
3. Press the lock…
4….and disconnect the wiring harness connector from the ignition switch contact group.
NOTE: For clarity, the following steps are shown with the steering column removed.
5. Press the upper and lower clamps…
NOTE: The lower retainer is not visible in the photo, as it is located on the opposite side of the contact group.
6….and remove the contact group from the ignition switch.
7. Install the contact group and all previously removed parts in reverse order.
