Removal and installation of ignition coils for duratec-he and duratec-v15 engines

NOTE: Although the head of the Duratec-V15 engine is slightly different from the Duratec-HE engines, the ignition coils of all these engines are replaced by similar techniques.

You will need an "8" socket head.

1. Disconnect a wire from the minus plug of the storage battery.



2. Remove the decorative engine cover (see Removal and installation of a decorative casing of the engine).



3. Pressing the latch..



4.... disconnect the wiring harness connector from the ignition coil.



5. Loosen the fastening bolt..



6….remove the bolt…



7….and remove the ignition coil.

8. Similarly remove ignition coils of other cylinders.



9. Install the coils in the reverse order of removal.

NOTE: Pay attention to the markings on the coils.

NOTE: Purchase new coils with the same markings.
