1. Remove the front oil seal from the crankshaft. For more information, refer to the Crankshaft Front Oil Seal chapter in this section.

CAUTION: To facilitate subsequent installation, mark the installation position of the adjusting shims between the transmission and the lower crankcase. When installing the oil pump, the adjusting shims must be installed in their original position.

Installation


1.
NOTE: Replace the oil pump gasket.


NOTE: Do not fully tighten the oil pump bolts at this stage.

2. Align the oil pump on both sides using a straightedge so that the contact surface is 0.3 mm - 0.8 mm above the lower edge of the cylinder block.

3. Tighten the oil pump bolts in two stages (engine shown removed for clarity).


  • Stage 1: 6 Nm
  • Stage 2: 45 degrees

CAUTION: Make sure all adjusting shims between the transmission and lower case are installed in their original positions.
