Gear shift lever mechanism — removal and installation (Focus 1)

Removal

1. Remove the gear shift lever cover.

1. Remove the gear shift knob.

2. Release the lid.

• Disconnect the connectors (the number and configuration depend on the specific equipment).

2. Remove the center console.

• Remove the rubber element and unscrew the bolts.

3. Remove the gear shift mechanism.

• 1. Disconnect the shift and select cables from the gear shift lever.
• 2. Remove the shift and select cables by turning the support rings clockwise.
• 3. Unscrew the nuts.

Installation

1. Install the elements back in place in reverse order.

• 1. Secure the shift and selector cables by turning the support rings clockwise.
• 2. Install the shift and selector levers.
• 3. Tighten the nuts.
