Removal
1. Remove the gear shift mechanism. For more information, refer to the Gear Shift Mechanism, Removal and Installation chapter in this section.
2. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Section 100-02 for additional information.
3. Disconnect the exhaust pipe and unfasten it from the rubber supports.
4. Detach the heat shield and move it back.
- Release the shift and selector cables from the floor clamps.
5. Open the shift and selector cable cover.
6. Disconnect the shift and gear selector cables.
- Disconnect the shift and selector cables by turning the support rings clockwise.
7. Lower the vehicle.
8. Remove the heater air duct.
9. Cut the mat and cushioning and fold them aside (shown with heat exchanger removed).
10. Disconnect the shift cable channel from the floor and route the cables into the passenger compartment (shown with the heat exchanger removed).
Installation
1. Install the elements in place in the reverse order (shown with the heat exchanger removed).
3. Adjust the shift cables. Refer to Section 308-00 for additional information.
